New Hampshire voters have voted and the returns are a mixed bag.
First, for the good news: Greater Boston area television watchers no longer for at least awhile can rejoice over the dramatic temporary end today of the incessant barrage of mostly bad campaign commercials littering their TV screens and so ruining their viewing pleasure.
And as for the worst bad news, chump Trump enjoyed a rebound after his crushing defeat last week in the Iowa caucuses and thus everyone will now have to suffer his new act on the stump as the Comeback Clown.
Fortunately, the amiable Republican Ohio Governor John Kasich broke out of the pack to finish a strong second.
As the growing legions of loyal Quincy Quarry readers will recall, the Quarry was one of the few among the media to appreciate the endorsement of Kasich by former President Nixon.

Only time will tell if Kasich can build continue to build on his recent burst of momentum or if this just turns out to be his fifteen minutes of fame as turned out to be the case for one time front runner Dr. Ben Carson.
In the meanwhile, the final results in New Hampshire votes will surely prove to be the death knell for at least a few of the but also ran pretenders.
And as for the Democrat side of the primary voting in New Hampshire yesterday, self-proclaimed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders left the presumptuous self-anointed presumptive Democratic nominee former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton feeling the burn.
Then again, after years of marriage to Bill, Hillary surely knows a thing or three about painful burning sensations.
