Trump backtracks while the polls and the media bite back.

In the wake of the Donald Trump’s found to be bogus claims of thousands of Muslims dancing in the streets over the collapse of the World Trade Center Twin Towers in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attack, The Donald tried to walk back from what he clearly said and instead suggest that what he really meant was that he had seen video of Muslims outside of the US dancing after 9/11 attacks.

Trump also endeavored to deny that he did anything to make fun of the physically disabled reporter who called The Donald for utterly misconstruing the reporter’s coverage by the reporter that Trump has claimed supported his claim of dancing Muslims in New Jersey.

So far, however, Trump’s attempt at damage control only exacerbated his self-inflicted damage to his increasing quixotic campaign for the Republican Presidential nomination. In just one week and while the dust over his latest gaffes is still settling, Trump’s poll numbers have cratered, dropping 12 percent and with worse likely yet to follow.

While not Trump’s support is not plummeting as quickly as did the Twin Towers and Trump is still narrowly in front of the Republican Reality Show scrum, Trump’s quest for the Republican Presidential nomination appears to thankfully be all but over at this point.

While long expected in the Quincy Quarry Newsroom that The Donald would blow up his campaign, that Trump imploded so relatively early in the going as well as over especially outrageous reasons that were also wholly unanticipated was still surprising. Trump made at least two fatal mistakes.

One was making the media angry as it buys ink by the railroad tanker load and bytes by the petabyte.

And the other mistake was making fun of a hard-working and successful disabled person.

Throw in the fact that the facts are utterly against him and – again – Trump looks to have all but scuttled his quest for the White House.
