– News about Quincy MA from Quincy Quarry News.
Quincy Center parking continues to be wicked scarce while City Hall continues to waste parking spaces.
With the City Hall renovation project is – at last report – now (at least, ed) 8 months behind schedule as well as running (at least, ed.) 60% over budget – with less than half of this delay the result of the devastating and still unsolved arson fire that struck City Hall last September – and the Hancock Street realignment project is both running at least somewhat late as well as already out of alignment, a considerable number of street parking spaces are thus variously out of service in Quincy Center, at least as far as the general public is concerned.

Suspected City Hall special interests VIP taking up 2 spaces

Adding to the problem, the Koch Maladministration has opted to open up for but half an hour for City Hall business-only use some of its many long well-protected reserved City Hall employee parking spaces in front the Quincy Center MBTA station and which have long been abused by City Hall employees, long suspected VIP free parking commuters to jobs elsewhere, and other privileged special interests.
This shell game of a grift to affect an actually faux response to long ongoing complaints of projects abutters has not played well with civilians who have things to do within of Quincy Center.
Further worsening matters, so fierce have been the efforts of the usually suspect efforts of the City of Quincy Parking Control meter men to protect these new City Hall insiders’ short term use parking spaces that apparently no locals dare use them either surreptitiously to pick up a latte at Starburnt’s burnt coffee and/or know all too well that there is no way to complete any business with City Hall in less than 30 minutes.

City Hall is out to lunch as usual and thus wasting parking

The net result given the usual Koch Maladministration shortcomings as well as an abject lack of understanding of the Law of Unintended Consequences, much less the sage lesson of Good (as well as truly devout, ed.) King Canute, another ten parking spaces in Quincy Center have thus been so added to the couple dozen parking spaces that have been taken out of service care of the Koch Maladministration’s variously suspect planning and project management skills.
Expect Quincy Quarry to continue to follow this ongoing Q-up until it might be able to “Free Parking for the People!”
